Verifying the Version

Carry out 1. VERSION (p. 20) in the Test Mode.
Data Backup and Restore
Operations
Items Required
• USB memory device (recommended: M-UF2G)
* If the USB memory device cannot be formatted easily on the HPD-20, format it
using a computer (FAT file system).
Formatting a USB Memory Device
Format the USB memory device before saving the user data.
1.
Connect the USB memory device to the HI-SPEED USB MEMORY
connector on the rear panel.
2.
Press and hold
to turn on the power.
3.
Press MENU.
The MENU screen appears.
4.
Press
or
to select SYS, then press ENTER.
The SYSTEM screen appears.
5.
Press
to select USB Memory, then press ENTER.
The USB MEMORY screen appears.
6.
Press
to select Format, then press ENTER.
The FORMAT USB MEMORY screen appears.
7.
Press ENTER.
A confirmation message is displayed.
8.
Press
to select YES, then press ENTER.
To cancel it, press EXIT.
9.
To execute formatting, press
To cancel it, press EXIT.
When formatting ends, the message Format Completed. appears, and
the display returns to the USB MEMORY screen.
Backup
1.
Connect the formatted USB memory device to the HI-SPEED USB
MEMORY connector on the rear panel.
2.
Press MENU.
The MENU screen appears.
3.
Press
or
to select SYS, then press ENTER.
The SYSTEM screen appears.
4.
Press
to select USB Memory, then press ENTER.
The USB MEMORY screen appears.
5.
Verify that Save Backup is selected, then press ENTER.
The SAVE BACKUP screen appears.

6.
Make sure the check box for With User Inst is selected, then press
ENTER.
To cancel it, press EXIT.
* Do not strike the HandSonic's pads while data is being saved. The vibration may
cause unexpected errors.
* Backup files are saved in the Roland/HPD-20/Backup folder of the USB
memory device.
When the backup operation ends, the message Save Completed.
appears, and the display returns to the USB MEMORY screen.
Restore
1.
Connect the USB memory device containing saved data to the HI-SPEED
USB MEMORY connector on the rear panel.
2.
Press MENU.
The MENU screen appears.
3.
Press
or
to select SYS, then press ENTER.
The SYSTEM screen appears.
4.
Press
to select USB Memory, then press ENTER.
The USB MEMORY screen appears.
5.
Press
to select Load Backup, then press ENTER.
The LOAD BACKUP screen appears.
6.
Make sure the check box for With User Inst is selected, then press
ENTER.
To cancel it, press EXIT.
A confirmation message is displayed.
7.
Press
to select YES, then press ENTER.
Selecting NO cancels the load operation.
* Do not strike the HandSonic's pads while data is being saved. The vibration may
cause unexpected errors.
When the restore operation ends, the message Load Completed.
appears, and the display returns to the USB MEMORY screen.
