Symptom
The Caller ID does not display.
The handset doesn't communicate
with the base or the other handset.
The second handset can't join
the conversation.
The answering system does not work.
Messages are incomplete.
After a power failure, the outgoing
message is deleted.
No sound on the base unit
speaker during call monitoring
or message playback.
Cannot access remote call-in features
from another touch-tone phone.

T R O U B L E S H O O T I N G
• The handset was picked up before the second ring.
• The call was placed through a switchboard.
• Call your local telephone company to verify your Caller ID service is current.
• Charge the handset.
• Change the digital security code (See page 57).
• Make sure that you have registered the second handset (TXC400 only).
• Only one handset at a time can talk with an outside caller. To allow a different
handset to talk to the caller, transfer the call to the other handset.
• Make sure the base unit is plugged in.
• Make sure that the answering system is turned on.
• Make sure that the message record time is not set to ANN (See page 45).
• The incoming messages may be too long. Remind callers to leave a brief message.
• The memory may be full. Delete some or all of the saved messages.
• Record your greeting again. The default message should remain.
• Adjust the speaker volume on the base unit.
• Make sure you are using the correct PIN number.
• Make sure that the touch-tone phone you're using can transmit the tone
for at least two seconds. If it cannot, you may have to use another phone to access
your message
