15. Media Usage/Compatibility

The imagePRESS V1000 maintains reliable, predictable, and high-quality output.
Consistency of the output is dependent on knowing and compensating for variables
of a print job. The imagePRESS V1000 incorporates many control systems, which
compensate for environmental and print process conditions. Another variable is the
print media. Knowing the characteristics of the media facilitates optimal print output.

Set the name of the media.
Set the basis weight of the paper
Select the size of the paper from the drop-down list, including
custom size paper.
Set the surface texture of the paper
Adjust the curl correction level for the paper type
Adjust the Secondary Transfer Voltage (the voltage that
transfers toner to the paper) when image blurring occurs
Adjust the printed image position on the paper, or correct
misalignment and distortion
Set the interval for automatic adjustment (the interval for
adjustment page interruption)
Set the brand name of the paper.
Specify the color of the paper. This setting acts as an
identifier to display the color of the paper on the operation
panel.
Specify whether the back (second) side of the media is
previously printed or not
Change the creep (displacement) correction for each page in
a booklet
Adjust the level of paper separation fan for registered paper
types (when using the POD Deck Lite-C1 or Multi-drawer
Paper Deck-E1)
The paper curve is a deflection which occurs in paper when
adjusting the image position. If the printed image is skewed,
the output paper is creased, or the lead edge/tail end of the
paper is curled, you may be able to correct them by adjusting
the setting value of the paper curve.
If the paper realignment speed is not appropriate, the printed
image may become rough or color on the tail end of the
paper may change. You can adjust the paper realignment
speed according to the image problem.
For some paper types, small margins make it harder to
remove the paper from the fixing unit roller surface. That can
result in folded/bent corner, paper feed issues, and
decreased print quality.
Adjust the total amount of toner used for each paper type.
