TROUBLESHOOTING
If the trouble cannot be rectified even after exercising the chec
your dealer to carry out repair work.

There is no power.
eAC cord is unplugged.
ePlug the power cord into a wall socket.
No sound from speakers.
@ Volume is turned all the way down.
e Raise volume setting.
@ Strip vinyl! insulation from speaker wire tip

Sound is distorted, or no stereo
sound (during FM broadcast).

e Antenna is in poor position.
e Broadcast is weak.
e The MONO
button is on.
e Use an external antenna (page 10).

e Player is in pause mode.
@ Disc has a bad scratch or warp.
e Deck has not stopped.

e Cassette is inserted incorrectly.
e Load the disc correctly with the label side UP.
e Clean the disc.
ePress the Pause/Play (1t/>) button (on the
remote control unit).
e Replace the disc.
ePress the STOP (m) button.
e Switch on the power again.
e Reload the cassette tape correctly.
Cannot record or copy tape.
Erasure prevention tabs are broken off.
e Dirty head.
eApply adhesive tape over the tab holes.
eClean head (page 48).

ePoor angle or too great a distance from the
remote contro! sensor window.
eA fluorescent light is shining on the remote
sensor window.
elnsert new batteries.
e Use within 7 meters and within a 30 degree
angle of the remote sensor window (page 6).
Turn off the light.
Timer does not work.
e Current time is not set.
e@ The TIMER button is set to the off position.
e Set current time.
eSet to the on position (page 44).
the power off and then on again or unplug the AC power cord and then plug it in again.
