Chapter 5 BIOS Setup
Description/Purpose
When enabled, VMM can utilize the
additional hardware capabilities
provided by Vanderpool Technology.
Previously codenamed "Vanderpool",
VT-x represents Intel's technology for
virtualization on the x86 platform.
When disabled, only one thread per
enabled core is enabled. Hyper
Threading is Intel's term for its
simultaneous multithreading
implementation in their CPUs. Enable
this function will improve
parallelization of computation
performed on PC microprocessor. For
each processor core that is physically
present, the operating system
addresses two virtual processors, and
shares the workload between them
when possible.
