Maintaining and Troubleshooting Your E-5250 System
Installing Memory
The SDRAM DIMMS supported by your system board conform to the
following standards:
•
3.3 V
•
72 bit
•
Intel 4-clock
•
100 MHz
•
Unbuffered
•
Registered
•
ECC
Four DIMM sockets are available on the system board: bank 0, bank 1,
bank 2, and bank 3. You can fill one or more of the banks with 128, 256, or
512 MB DIMMS. The maximum system memory is 2 GB.
When you are installing DIMMs, keep the following in mind:
•
Do not install buffered and unbuffered DIMMs together.
•
Do not install registered and unregistered DIMMs together.
•
Do not install 66 MHz and 100 MHz DIMMs together.
If you remove a DIMM place it in an antistatic bag.
See the figure on page 11 for the location of the DIMM sockets.
Turn off the system and unplug the power cord.
