Installing Drives in the Top Drive Cage

You can install 5.25-inch and 3.5-inch externally accessible drives in the top
drive cage.
To install a drive in the top drive cage
Turn off the system and unplug the power cord.

Remove the case side panels. If a plastic slot cover or metal shield is

located in the bay you want to use, remove the front bezel also. (See
page 3 for instructions on opening the case). Observe the static
electricity precautions on page 2 as you open the case.
If a drive is installed in the bay you want to use, remove the drive:

Disconnect the power and data cables from the back of the drive.
Remove the four screws (two on either side of the drive) that attach
the drive to the drive cage.
Push the drive out of the chassis through the bezel.
