A.S.E.S. (Auto Synchro Editing System)
@ What is A.S.E.S.?
@A.S.E.S. is a special function which automatically programs
the recording of CD tracks, so that the track which is only
partially recorded at the end of cassette side A is recorded
again in full at the beginning of cassette side B.
eWhen the A.S.E.S. function is used, if the playback mode
has been selected on the CD player, recording will be
performed in the sequence of the playback mode:
ALL
: All discs recorded A.S.E.S.
SINGLE
: Only the displayed disc is recorded A.S.E.S.
5-DISC ACCESS : The selected 5-DISC ACCESS group (1-5 to
21-25) is recorded A.S.E.S.
PROGRAM
: The selected tracks only are recordedA.S.E.S.
1. Load discs in the CD player. (Refer to page 17.)
e Use the program function to record tracks in a specific order.
A.S.E.S. will not function in the DISC ALL PROGRAM.
eWhen recording beginning with a specific disc, use the DISC
SELECT knob to select the disc number.
e Never insert more than one disc at a time into one rack slot.
This can scratch or damage the discs.
2. Press the CD function button.
Play starts automatically, so be sure to press the STOP button.
3. Load a tape for recording into TAPE Il.
@ Recording is in the forward direction.
eWind the tape past its leader portion so that the magnetic
surface is exposed. (Refer to page 16.)
4. Set the DOLBY NR ON/OFF button to the desired noise
reduction mode.
5. Press the ASES button.
"ASES 1" is displayed.
6. Select "ASES 1" or "ASES 2" with the MULTI JOG knob.
Turning the knob switches between ASES 1 and ASES 2.

@ Press BEST button A.—-Starts A.S.E.S. with best selection A.
@ Press BEST button B. Starts A.S.E.S. with best selection B.
ASES 2:
Enables A.S.E.S. with the first track only of each disc.
7. Press the START button (<P
).
A.S.E.S. starts.
To cancel the A.S.E.S.:
Press the STOP button (m).
NOTES:
e By setting the CD player for all-track repeat in one of the disc
modes,
you can record a tape fully without leaving any
remainder (repeat A.S.E.S.).
e During use of the A.S.E.S. function, near the end of a tape the
CD player may skip to the next track, or the CD may be
interrupted after ending its play. In this case, record the
remaining tracks manually, without use ofthe A.S.E.S.function.
