VI. CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS

1. PREPARING THE ICEMAKER FOR LONG STORAGE

When shutting off the icemaker for an extended time, drain out all water from
the water tank and remove the ice from the Storage Bin. The
Storage Bin should be cleaned and dried. Drain the icemaker to prevent
damage to the water supply line at sub-freezing temperatures, using air or
carbon dioxide. Shut off the icemaker until the proper ambient temperature
is resumed.
• When the icemaker is not used for two or three days, it is sufficient to only move the
Control Switch to the "OFF" position, unless the icemaker will be at sub-freezing
temperatures.
[1] For water-cooled machines complete all items. For air-cooled machines ignore Item 7.
1) Remove the Front Panel.
2) Move the Control Switch, on the Control Box, to the "OFF" position.
3) Wait 3 minutes.
4) Move the Control Switch to the "ICE" position.
5) When all the ice from the previous ice making cycle has defrosted from the Evaporator,
(approximately 2 minutes) close the potable water supply line Shut-off Valve and open
the line Drain Valve.
6) Use compressed air or carbon dioxide to blow any remaining water from the pipes.
7) When the Pump starts to operate, quickly—
a) Close the water-cooled Condenser Supply Line Valve
b) Open the Supply Line Drain Valve
c) Use compressed air or carbon dioxide to blow any remaining water from
the Condenser
d) Close the Drain Valve.
Note: The Compressor will eventually stop on the High Pressure Switch with no
flowing condenser water, so complete Item 7 as quickly as possible.
8) Move the Control Switch to the "OFF" position.
