MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS

WARNING

Blades are extremely sharp and can cause severe
injury. Wear heavy leather gloves when handling or
working around blades. DO NOT use a blade that is
excessively worn or damaged.

Never use a cutting blade that shows signs of
excessive wear or damage. Refer to Figure 4.5. Wear
heavy leather gloves when handling or working
around cutting blades. Blades are extremely sharp
and can cause severe injury._
STANDARD MOWER BLADE SERVICE
STANDARD BLADE WEAR LIMITS
All mower blades should be checked for excessive wear
and damage before each use. See Figure 52.
30" & 33" MOWER BLADE REMOVAL/REPLACEMENT
Move tractor to a firm, level surface.
Turn engine "OFF".
Raise hood, remove spark plug wire from spark plug and
secure wire away from spark plug.
Remove deck from tractor.
Carefully position deck on its left side to access blade.
Remove blade mounting bolts, nuts and washers. See
Figure 53.
Install new 30" blade, part number 1-8069, or 3-4168 for
33" blade mounting bar.
