Using EzSet/EQ
The/_\/R 635 usesHarman Ka_don's EzSet/EO tach
nologyto automatically configure y oursystem to deliver
the bestpossible performance b ased on yourspecific
speaker s election, where the speakers a m placedin
the roomandtheacoustic influences J nyourlistening
room.Byusinga series of testsignals andthe pro-
cessing power of the Texas Instruments DA 610 digital
signal p rocessor. EzSWFQ eliminates t he needfor
manual a djustment of speaker " size". crossover, delay
andoutputlevel s ettings whileit addsthe powerofa
multi-band parametric e qualizer to smoothout thefre
quency settings foroptimal s ound reproduction.
Inaddition to making system sel_pquickandeasy,
EzSet/EQ ismoreprecise thanmanual settings. With
EzSet/EQ youareableto calibrata yoursystem ina
fraction of thetime it wouldtaketo enterthe settings
manually, andwithmsulta thatrival t hoseachieved with
expensive t estequipment andtimeconsuming p mce
dures. T heendresult i s a system calibration profile
thatenables yournewreceiver t o deliver t he bestpoe
siblesound no matter whattypeof speakers y ouhave
or whatthe dimensions o f yourlistening roomam.
Werecommend t hatyoutakeadvantage of the preci
sionof EzSet/EQ t o calibrate yoursystem, b ut if
desired youmayalsomakeanyof theconfiguration
settings manually, or trimthe settings provided by
EzSeVEQ byfollowing t he instructions on pages 26 31
Betorestarting the EzSet/EQ process, makecertain
thatyouhaveconnected a ll speakers f or yoursystem
andthatyou haveboththe EzSeVEQ m icrophone a nd
the extender m d handy. I f youhavea standard camera
tripod,attach the extender r odto the tripod,andthen
screw1he microphone t o thetop ofthe rod.Racethe
tripodat yourprimary listening positionat least t hroe
feetl_omthe nearest s peaker a ndadjustit sothat
microphone i sat leastthreefeetabove earlevehIf
youdo not havea tripod,simply screwtheextender
rod intothe bottomof the EzSeVEQ m icrophone.
