HOW YOUR COOL MOISTURE HUMIDIFIER WORKS

Your Bionaire® Cool Moisture humidifier draws dry air through the rear air intake grill area. This air is then passed through 4 moisture–laden wick filters which retains the minerals and deposits. The resulting moist air is directed back into the room from the top air grill.

information Tip: This humidification system provides a cool, invisible moisture output. It is normal not to see the mist.

PRE-OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Be sure the humidifier is switched off and disconnected from the electrical outlet.
  2. Select a location for your humidifier, on a flat surface, about 4" away from the wall. Do not place your humidifier on furniture, a floor location that will not be damaged by moisture is best.
  3. Remove the water reservoir, by holding the reservoir handle and lifting straight upwards.

FILLING THE WATER RESERVOIR

  1. Twist off the water reservoir cap located on the bottom of the water reservoir by turning counter clockwise and fill the water reservoir with cool fresh water. Do not fill with warm water as this may cause leaking.
  2. After filling the water reservoir, replace the water reservoir cap by firmly turning clockwise and then replace the water reservoir onto the base. The water reservoir will immediately begin to empty into the base.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

DEVICE OVERVIEW
Your humidifier is equipped with a technologically advanced Digital Humidistat. You can set the humidifier to run continuously in manual mode or set the Digital Humidistat to your desired humidity setting. The Digital Humidistat will automatically turn the humidifier ON or OFF, depending on the preset comfort level. The comfort level ranges from 30% and 65% relative humidity.

MANUAL MODE INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Plug the humidifier into a 120V AC electrical outlet.
  2. The display will show the current room humidity.
  3. To start the unit, push the MODE button once for the HIGH (3) manual setting.
  4. Press the button again for the MEDIUM (2) manual setting and again for LOW (1). After the selection is made, the display will return to show the current room humidity.
  5. To stop the unit, press and hold the button for two seconds, or keep pressing the button until the display reads OFF.

HUMIDISTAT INSTRUCTIONS

To take advantage of the Digital Humidistat, press the MODE button until the speed is set in either the Auto HIGH (A3), Auto MEDIUM (A2) or Auto LOW (A1) setting. Then adjust the set humidity by using the up and down buttons. Humidity will increase in increments of 5%. When the humidity level is set, the display will return to show the current room humidity. When the room humidity level rises above the set humidity, the humidifier will stop. When the humidity level drops below the set humidity, the humidifier will turn on automatically.

warning NOTE: Allow up to 30 minutes for the filter to fully absorb water and for the unit to produce moisture.

warning NOTE: The Digital Humidistat Humidifier has memory. This means that when you turn the unit back on, it will be at the last setting the humidifier was set at.

If you do not plan to use the humidifier for two or more days, make sure any residual water is drained from the water reservoir, base and wick filters to prevent algae or bacteria growth.

EXTENDED RUN TIME SETTING

By setting your humidifier to a specific humidity level, you are actually also extending the run time. Since the unit will turn on and off to maintain the set humidity level, less water will be used, so you will need to fill the unit less than you would on manual setting.

REMOVING PERMANENT FILTER FOR CLEANING

REMOVING PERMANENT FILTER FOR CLEANING

Through normal use, waterborne minerals and sediment become trapped in the Permanent Filter. The harder your water, the greater amount of minerals in the water, and the more often you will need to wash your Permanent Filter. Using the FilterCleanTM filter monitor located on the top grill, you will be able to check the life of the Permanent Filter in your humidifier.

When the unit is turned off the FilterCleanTM needle will read "Off". When the unit is turned on, the Filter Monitor needle will need 60 minutes to read the current filter condition. After the needle reads Wash Filter for 60 minutes, Permanent filter washing is recommended.

Regular filter washing is necessary to ensure optimal humidifier performance.

Removing the Permanent Filter for Cleaning, Follow these Instructions:

  1. Turn the unit off and disconnect from the electrical outlet.
  2. The water tray should be cleaned when you clean the filter. The water tray is a convenient way to carry the filter to prevent dripping.
  3. Mix 1 gallon warm tap water with 1 teaspoon concentrated antibacterial liquid dish washing soap.
  4. Fully submerge filter in soap solution for 15-20 minutes.
  5. Dunk filter in soap solution several times then gently press to release the soapy water. Be sure not to wring, pull or scrub filter as this will degrade the filter.
  6. Run under cool tap water until there is no soap remaining. Some discoloration may still be visible, this is normal and does not affect performance.
  7. Gently shake or press the filter to remove excess water.
  8. The filter can be put directly into the humidifier while still damp if it is to be used right away, or allow filter to dry completely if humidifier is to be stored.

Should your filter become damaged or lost, please call the customer service number listed in the manual for a replacement part: BWF100-P.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS

Humidifiers provide comfort by adding moisture to dry, heated indoor air. To get the most benefit from the humidifier and avoid product misuse, follow all instructions carefully, specifically the operation, care and maintenance guidelines. Please note that this is an electrical appliance, and requires attention when in use.

In addition, if you do not follow the recommended care and maintenance instructions, micro-organisms may be able to grow in the water within the humidifier's reservoir. You must routinely follow the cleaning procedures that follow in order to ensure proper, efficient operation of your humidifier. Proper maintenance and cleaning is essential to the continued performance of your unit and the avoidance of algae or bacteria build-up.

DAILY MAINTENANCE

  1. Be sure the unit is OFF and is disconnected from the electrical outlet.
  2. Remove the housing and the reservoir from the humidifier and place in sink or tub.

  3. Rinse with clean warm water to remove scale and the white vinegar solution before beginning to disinfect the reservoir.

DISINFECT HUMIDIFIER BASE AND RESERVOIR

  1. Fill humidifier base with 1/4 gallon of water and 1/2 teaspoon of chlorine bleach.
  2. Fill the reservoir 1/2 full with water and 1/2 teaspoon of chlorine bleach.
