Channel programming
Channels are programmed in VFO mode. This mode allows programming such parameters as RX
frequency, TX frequency, CTCSS, DCS, RF power, bandwidth, PTT-ID, BCL, ANI, channel name, etc.
Example

TX fre-
quency
quency
440.625
430.625
MHz
If you want to program the data from the above table on channel CH106, you should:
 check if the CH106 channel is no longer storing data (DELCH parameter) in the device menu:
o if there are no CH letters in front of the number 106, then the CH106 channel does not
store any data,
o if there are CH letters before the number 106, then delete the data on channel CH106
(parameter DELCH) or select another channel.
 press and hold the MENU button, start the device and enter the VFO mode,
 press the EXIT / AB button to select frequency A (UP),
 enter the frequency 440.625 MHz using the numeric keypad,
 select the values of other parameters (CTCSS, DCS, RF power, band, etc.) using the menu,
 after setting all parameters, press MENU button, go to MEMCH parameter, press MENU button
twice to check data stored on CH106 channel – RX frequency should be stored on the channel;
again press MENU button twice to store TX frequency – RX and TX frequencies will be the
same,
 note: to save 430.625 MHz as TX frequency, follow the same steps as for saving RX frequency.
CTCSS/DCS scanning
Before starting CTCSS/DCS scanning, you must have the RX frequency set beforehand and deactivate
the Dual Standby function – it allow you to enter VFO mode. Then enter the R-CTS/R-DCS parameter
in the menu, press the MENU button, then the *SCAN button and simultaneously press the PTT button
on another shortwave radio – this sequence of buttons will start CTCSS/DCS scanning. When the
same CTCSS/DCS channel of another shortwave radio is found – the scan will end. When the scan
will end, press the MENU button to save the CTCSS/DCS.
Tone in repeater operation
Repeater equipment receives on one frequency and transmits on another. Whenever you use a re-
peater, you can hear a tone – it signals the correct operation of the repeater device. For configuring
repeater operation, it is recommended to use following parameters:
 STE – it is best to set it to OFF,
 RP-STE – it is best to set it to OFF,
 RPT-RL – it is best to set it to value 5.
