Idle speed adjustment

Start the engine and warm it up for a
few minutes (normally,

quickly responds to the throttle.

Valve clearance adjustment
The valve clearance becomes larger with
use,
resulting in improper fuel
/
air supply and
engine noise.
To prevent this, the valve clearance must be
adjusted regularly. This
adjustment,
however,
should be left to a Yamaha dealer or other
qualified mechanic.
Throttle lever adjustment
Loosen the lock nut and turn the adjuster un-
til there is the specified freeplay at throttle
lever.

Set the idle to the specified engine
speed
by adjusting the throttle stop
screw;
turn the screw in to increase
engine speed, turn the screw out to
decrease engine speed
