There are three ways you can initially configure your FortiBalancer unit: via the
Console port (recommended), via Secure Shell (SSH) or via an Internet browser.
If you choose to use SSH or an Internet browser to configure your device, you must
ensure the connecting PC has an IP address of 192.168.1.X and a netmask of
255.255.255.0. Once you have changed your PC's IP address, you can navigate
your Internet browser to 192.168.1.99:8888 or establish an SSH session to
192.168.1.99 for a Command Line Interface (CLI) prompt.
Note: Please note that if you change the FortiBalancer's Port 1 IP address or
WebUI IP address, your connection will be lost and you will have to reestablish a
connection using the changed IP address.
To connect to the FortiBalancer using the Console port, use the following settings:
Set Emulation to VT100.

Set Baud rate to 9600 bps.
