What to do
The surface of the Sensor Cover is dirty. See the following to do cleaning.
"Cleaning the Sensor Cover" on page 80
If you continue to use the printer while the Sensor Cover is dirty, the sensor cannot
correctly detect the position of the platen, so printing may not be done at an
appropriate head height. We recommend cleaning it immediately if this message is
displayed.
The encoder scale is dirty. See the following to do cleaning.
"Cleaning the Encoder Scale" on page 83
If the encoder scale is dirty, the printer will not be able to read the print area accurately
and print quality will decline. We recommend cleaning it immediately if this message is
displayed.
Check the following points, and then press OK.
If there are wrinkles in the surface of the media that is loaded on the platen, reload
the media so it is flat.
When loading thick media, check that the spacer combination and platen height
(scale) are suitable for the media.
"Determining the Height of the Platen" on page 56
Confirm that nothing has fallen into the printer.
Check the following points, and then press OK.
Remove anything that is on the platen other than the media.
If the surface of the media has risen up or become extremely wrinkled, reload the
media so it is flat.
When you have changed the platen type, check that the spacer combination
and platen height (scale) are suitable for the platen type you are using and the
thickness of the loaded media.
"Determining the Height of the Platen" on page 56
Remove anything that has fallen around the movable base.
Printer has exceeded the temperature at which its operations are guaranteed. Adjust
the temperature of the room, and then start again.
