    Chapter 2 gives an overview of the router's hardware and software features, describes its appearance and the package contents. Chapter 3 explains how to install the router DIR-806A and configure a PC in order to access its web-based interface. Chapter 4 describes all pages of the web-based interface in detail.

For security reasons, DIR-806A with default settings cannot connect to the Internet. To get started, please set your own password used to access the web-based interface and, if needed, configure other settings recommended by your ISP.

Enter the username (admin) in the Username field and the password you specified in the Password field, then click the LOGIN button.

In the Initial Configuration section you can run the Initial Configuration Wizard. The Wizard allows you to configure the router for operation in the needed mode and specify all parameters necessary for getting started (for the description of the Wizard, see the Initial Configuration Wizard section, page 40).

    If you perform initial configuration of the router via Wi-Fi connection, please make sure that you are connected to the wireless network of DIR-806A (see the WLAN name (SSID) on the barcode label on the bottom panel of the device) and click the NEXT button.

When you select a network, the Network name (SSID) and BSSID fields are filled in automatically.
