Chapter 6. Changing Various Settings

Making other settings

You can set the master tuning, temperament, and other
settings that make the RG-3M easier to play.
The screen in which the settings are changed is called the
"Function screen."
You can make the following settings.

Changing the CD Settings
Initializing the User Memory and USB Memory
Using the V-LINK Function
Playing the Automatic Demos
Muting or Reducing the Volume of a Specific Part

Changing the Part That
Makes the Keys Move
With the RG-3M, you can set the part to which the
keyboard's movement is to be linked when the keyboard
moves automatically along with a song.
SMF music files and other such songs are composed of 16
parts (channels), with various performances recorded to the
different parts. For example, rhythm performances are often

recorded to Part 10, while the right-hand keyboard

performance is recorded to Part 4.

Press the [Function] (Exit) button, getting its

indicator to light.

Press the [Song] (Select -) button or [
button to display the "MISC Moving Key Part" screen.

Press the [Moving Key] (Enter) button.

button to select the part you want to change.
From the left, these are "part 1, part 2 ... part 15, and part
16."

Press the [
button to switch the keyboard movement on or off.
The part to which the moving keyboard is linked is
indicated by " " in the screen; parts that do not cause
the keyboard to play are indicated by "–" in the screen.
When having the keys play automatically to a
performance recorded on the RG-3M, select Part 1. In
Split performances, however, the right-hand
performance is recorded to Part "4," while the left hand
is recorded to Part "3."

After specifying the part to which the moving
keyboard, press the [Function] (Exit) button.
This confirms selection of the part to which the moving
keyboard.

Press the [Function] (Exit) button so the indicator goes
out.
