4. Insert a 1/4" (6 mm) prybar or similar tool
into the hole in the clutch actuating lever.
Pry lever to the right (clockwise) and
disconnect cable spring from clutch
lever. See Figure 23.
5. While holding anti-rotation arm in
position with prybar, remove anti-rotation
shoulder bolt. Gradually release the
spring tension and allow the anti-rotation
arm to rotate counter-clockwise. See
Figure 23.
6. Remove BBC spring. See Figure 23.
7. Remove blade brake clutch and
washers from engine shaft. See
Figure 23.

11. Remove belt from engine sheave and
remove belt.

1. Route new belt through belt channel.
2. Route belt around transmission pulley
and reinstall transmission bracket and
hardware. Rotate transmission back into
location. Loop belt over crankshaft end.
Install engine pulley with key.
3. Install belt channel guides and drive
pulley guide.
4. Install blade adapter and blade. Make
sure the blade hardware is tightened to
the proper torque. See Install Blade on
page 21.
5. Connect the wheel drive cable spring to
the transmission bracket and rotate drive
cable adjuster to properly adjust drive
cable See ADJUST WHEEL DRIVE
CONTROL on page 29.
6. Connect spark plug wire.
