Chapter 6: Using the DVD Menus

16:9 Format
This menu adjusts the way a 16:9 (widescreen) movie appears on screen.
This TV's screen is 4:3 (standard).
Pan&Scan This setting is preferred for widescreen material (if the disc
wasn't written with pan & scan then you'll only see the center of the
widescreen image).
Letterbox Lets you view movies in their original aspect ratio (height to
width ratio). The entire frame of the movie is shown, but it will take up
a smaller portion of the screen vertically. The movie might appear with
black bars at the top and bottom of the screen.
Squeeze If you choose this setting, the widescreen image will be
vertically compressed on the screen.
To change the image format:
1. Press DVD SETUP, the DVD's main menu appears. Highlight 16:9
Format.
2. Use arrow buttons to select the desired setting.
3. Press OK to confirm your selection. Press DVD SETUP or CLEAR to
exit.

Setting Your Password

This setting is made when there is no disc loaded.
1. Press DVD SETUP, the DVD's main menu appears. Highlight
Password.
2. Use the right arrow button to highlight EDIT. Press OK and the
password box appears. Enter the current password (if you haven't
set one, you can use 0000) and press OK.
3. Enter your new password, and press OK.
4. Confirm your new password and press OK.
Note: If you forget your password, you can use 0000. It's the
default password for this product.
