Playing Videotapes

Playing Tapes

You can play S-VHS or VHS tapes in the DVD/VCR. To play a tape, turn on the TV and the DVD/
VCR (press ON•OFF on the player or the remote). Then follow the below steps.

1. Insert the tape into the VCR deck. The DVD/VCR will automatically be
placed in VCR mode."
2. Press the Play button on the remote or front panel. If the tape does not
have the Record Safety Tab attached and the Auto Play feature is turned on,
the tape will begin to play automatically.
Note: To stop playback, press the STOP button on the remote or front
panel.
Press the OPEN/CLOSE button on the remote or the EJECT button on the
front panel to eject the tape.
Playing and Rewinding Automatically
You can set up the VCR so that it automatically plays a tape (with its safety tab
removed) when you insert it. When this feature is set, the VCR will also
automatically rewind any tape when it completes playing. To do this:
1. Press the SETUP/ENTER button on the remote.
2. Use the up and down arrows to move the on-screen arrow to

3. Press the right arrow to confirm your selection.
4. Use the up and down arrows on your remote to move the on-screen arrow
to Auto Play/Rewind.
5. Use the right arrow to choose from the following options:
• Both—Enables both Auto Play and Auto Rewind.
• Play—Enables Auto Play only. Tapes without the record safety tabs will
play automatically when you insert them.
• Rew—Enables Auto Rewind only. Tapes will rewind automatically when

they are done playing.

6. Press the GO BACK button on the remote to exit.
