Radial forces between the stator and rotor
The following table shows the active radial forces in N per 0.1 mm centering error between the
stator and rotor. The longer the active part, the greater the radial force.
Table 5-1

Radial force
Note
It is imperative that you observe the radial forces between the stator and rotor as well as the
maximum permissible concentricity error. The maximum permissible concentricity error is
specified in the dimension drawing in the Configuration Manual "SIMOTICS T-1FW6 external
rotor built-in torque motors".

Example
The eccentricity for a 1FW6720-2PB10-2Exx torque motor (active part length 100 mm) is, for
example, 0.15 mm.
The active radial force due to this centering error is therefore:

Mounting system
Observe the following when mounting the torque motor to the axis structure:
• Only use new, unused fixing screws
• The mounting surfaces must be free of oil and grease.
• Note the maximum permissible depth of engagement of the fixing screws in the stator and
rotor according to the respective installation drawing or the table below
• Observe the minimum screw insertion depth of the fixing screws with M8 threads in the
stator and for mounting the rotor in the customer application: it is 10 mm.
• To secure the screws, choose long clamping lengths l

• Note the tightening torques specified in the table below.
