Roadside emergencies
BATTERY
Safety advice
Always take the following
precautions when handling
a battery:
•
Wear eye protection. Do not let
acid or lead particles get in
contact with your skin or clothing.
•
Battery acid is caustic. Wear
gloves and eye protection. Do not
tilt the battery, acid might come
out of the ventilation openings. If
acid is sprayed into the eyes
immediately rinse with clear water
for a few minutes. Then see a
doctor immediately. If acid is
sprayed on skin or clothing
neutralize in an alkaline bath
(soap) and rinse with water. If
acid is swallowed see a doctor
immediately.

Keep children away from the
battery acid.
•
When charging a battery
explosive gas will be released.
