Talkgroup Call Feature (Conventional Only)
This feature allows you to define a group of conventional system users so that they can share the use
of a conventional channel.
NOTE: Encryption keys are associated to talkgroups. When talkgroups are associated,
encryption keys are changed by changing the active talkgroup. See
80
for more information.
6.2.3.1
Selecting a Talkgroup
Procedure:
1
or to Tgrp and press the Menu Select button directly below Tgrp.
The display shows the last talkgroup that was selected and stored.
2 Perform one of the following actions:

to Pset for the preset preprogrammed talkgroup.

or
to the required talkgroup.
3 Press the Menu Select button directly below Sel to save the currently selected talkgroup and
return to the Home screen.
4 Press
to return to the Home screen.
6.2.4
Sending a Status Call
This feature allows you to send data calls to the dispatcher about a predefined status. Each status can
have up to a 14-character name. For trunking, a maximum of eight status conditions is possible. For
conventional, a maximum of 16 status conditions is possible.
Procedure:
1 Perform one of the following actions:

Press the preprogrammed Status button.
•
or to Sts and press the Menu Select button directly below Sts.
The display shows the last acknowledged status call, or the first status in the list.
2 Perform one of the following actions:

or
to the required status.
•
Use the keypad to enter a number corresponding to the location in the status list.
3 Press the PTT button to send the status.
When the dispatcher acknowledges, you hear four tones and the display shows Ack
received. The radio returns to normal dispatch operation.
NOTE: If the Display Last Acknowledged User Status/Message is enabled, the display
shows the last acknowledged status.
