Two X-Frame 88s, real world examples - Christian Church
Let's consider a system design that requires two X-Frame 88s for a contemporary church system. This facility is typical of con-
temporary Christian worship facilities where there is an equal distribution of speech and musical performance audio during the
service. In this example, the first X-Frame 88 will be used as the primary processing engine for the church's L-C-R loudspeaker
array. In addition, it will include speech mixing and line level processing for outboard line level sources and a FOH console.
This unit will also include an MM-8802 that will accommodate the extended inputs and outputs required for the main system.
The primary speech microphones are connected to the first X-Frame 88's Local Inputs where they are processed by an automat-
ic mixer. These inputs are the critical signals from the pastoral staff, and the direct outputs of these signals is sent via the Link
B output block to the second X-Frame 88 for the record mix. Additional analog inputs are sourced at the MM-8802, and appear
inside the view file at the BoB A Input block. These signals include stereo line level sources, as well as the master outputs from
the FOH console in the balcony. The console is used for music only, as the Automatic Mixer within the X-Frame 88 handles the
speech microphones nicely.
The outputs of this X-Frame 88 drive all of the loudspeaker circuits for the facility. This includes the main cluster processing as
well as four zones of distributed processing for the foyer, nursery, hallways and administrative areas. In addition, there is an
output for the hearing-impaired transmitter and a general purpose auxilliary feed. All of the system outputs appear at the Local
Outputs and BoB A Outputs blocks.
