Other considerations when linking multiple X-Frame 88s
Configuring mulitple units is a pretty basic endevour, if you follow the rules presented in the previous sections. Of primary
importance is the sync, view file construction and phsical interconnect. If you are not sure about any of this, please review the
previous pages. In addition, there are a few other factors to consider that will help you in at the design phase. Let's consider
these factors separately.
Analog audio is fully functional, without limitations on all X-Frame 88s in the system.
Each X-Frame 88 still has an 8x8 analog I/O block, even when using the Expansion Ports. Do not get confused by this.
Remember, the X-Frame 88 is essentially a 24x24 box. (8x8 Local, 8x8 Expansion Port A, 8x8 Expansion Port B.)
Each X-Frame 88 can be further expanded.
If the "B" port is available, it can be used with an MM-8802 or another X-Frame 88 for further expansion. Connecting the "A"
port to another X-Frame 88 does not sacrifice the use of the "B" port.
Think, "black box"!.
When using multiple X-Frame 88s in a single integrated system, you should consider each unit a "black box" processor that will
serve a defined purpose. It is helpful to separate your audio function into separate boxes for easier management of your signal
flow.
