Syncronization
When using two X-Frame 88s in a single system, there must be a single sync source for both connected units. The sync source
must originate from one X-Frame 88 and the other X-Frame 88s must be manually configured to recieve the sync signal. There
is functionality within the X-Ware software to enable or disable external sync.
Within the X-Ware software, there is functionality that enables an X-Frame 88 to be a master or a slave in applications where

from its Expansion "A" Port port only. This means that anytime an X-Frame 88 is a slave, its Link A port must be connected to
another X-Frame 88, which is configured as a master (Link A External Sync disabled).
It is important to note that a master X-Frame 88 outputs its sync signal on either port so it doesn't make any difference which
port is used on the master, but the slave must always be connected via its "A" port to the master X-Frame 88. Sync signal is
note recieved at the "B" Expansion Port. The example below illustrates the basic connection.

multiple X-Frame 88s exist. Understanding how the Link function works is critical
when configuring multiple X-Frame 88s.
In the X-Ware software, click on File | Compile Options. This will open the
Compile Options dialog box (see Fig. X). Within this dialog is the "Link A External
Sync" checkbox.
The Link A External Sync feature enables the X-Frame 88 to operate from its internal
sync source or an external sync source received on Expansion Port A. The default
setting is OFF, which means the X-Frame 88 is running on its internal clock, and
therefore a "master". In a stand-alone configuration, the external sync option must
be disabled.
However, when two X-Frame 88s are interconnected, a master sync source must be
determined. By turning ON the Link A External Sync option, you are disabling the
X-Frame 88's internal clock, and running it on the sync signal that appears on its
Expansion Port A.
When an X-Frame 88 is configured for slave operation, the sync signal is sourced
