2. Names and Functions of Components
The names of components in the Device Expansion Unit are described below.
FRONT VIEW

Top cover
The top cover protects the top of the Device Expansion Unit.
Remove the top cover to install 5.25-inch devices in the Device Expansion Unit.

Handle
The handle is used to pull out the Device Expansion Unit from the rack.

5.25-inch device bay
The 5.25-inch device bay includes slots in which optional 5.25-inch devices are installed.
(See page 27.)

Power LED 1 (green/umber/red)
The power LED 1 turns green when the power unit of the Device Expansion Unit is turned
on.
In the installation of the normal power supply, the power LED 1 turns red if a power fault
occurs or a power fan is stopped.
In the installation of the redundant power supply, the power LED 1 turns umber if an alarm
occurs in the power supply 1. (See page 9.)

Power LED 2 (green/umber) This LED may be lit only when the redundant power is
installed.
The power LED 2 turns green if the power supply 2 in the redundant power supply is turned
on. The power LED 2 turns umber if an alarm occurs in the power supply 2. (See page 9.)

Set screw
Loosen the set screw to remove the top cover.

Knob screw
Fasten the knob screw to fix the Device Expansion Unit.
