5-7. Timing of the needle and the hook

When the needle bar (1) rises 2.2mm (-813 specification) and
the-815 specification is 2.4mm above the lowest position and
the base line (b) coincides with the lower end of the needle
bar bush (2) as shown in the figure, the hook tip (3) should
coincide with the center of the needle (4).
(At this time, the clearance between the top edge of the needle
hole and the tip of the hook blade is 0.5 to 0.7mm.)
1. Turn the sewing machine pulley to raise the needle bar (1)
from the lowest position and align the base line (b) with
the lower end of the needle bar bush (2) as shown in the
figure.
2. Loosen setscrews (5) [3 pieces] and align hook blade tip
(3) with the center of needle (4).
At this time, the clearance between the tip of the hook (3)
and the needle (4) should be 0 to 0.05mm.
3. Securely tighten the set screws (5) [3 pcs.].
