Installing ActiveSync desktop software:
Windows XP
If you have a Windows XP computer, the
desktop sync software is called ActiveSync
desktop software. The Windows Mobile
Getting Started CD recognises that you
have a Windows XP computer and
automatically directs you to install
ActiveSync desktop software. On your
smartphone, the sync application is also
called ActiveSync.
BEFORE YOU BEGIN
If you are installing the software on a

computer at work, make sure your
company allows you to install new
software. Contact your company's
IT department for help.
Make sure your computer is connected

to the Internet so that you can
download the software.
Turn off any firewall settings on your

computer that can interfere with the
synchronisation process. Contact your
