NOTE:
This step applies only to computers shipped with a keyboard backlight installed.

4. Remove the screw (M2x2) and the three screws (M2x3.5) that secure the system board to the palm-rest and keyboard
assembly.
NOTE:
DO NOT remove the USB Type-C bracket from the system board, for individual replacement. The system board
and the USB Type-C bracket are replaced as an assembly part.
5. Carefully lift and remove the system board from the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.

The information in this section is intended for authorized service technicians only.
Prerequisites
If you are replacing a component, remove the existing component before performing the installation procedure.
About this task
NOTE:
When installing the system board to replace/access other parts, the system board can be installed with the heat
sink attached to it in order to simplify the procedure and preserve the thermal bond between the system board and heat
sink.
