Setting modem DIP switches

Turning on power

Set modem DIP switches using the instructions provided by the manufacturer
of the modem before you configure the modem software.
Ensure that the modem you want to use supports all of the required
settings. For more information, see "Modem selection" (page 175).

Set the modem DIP switches as specified in the table "Modem DIP switch
settings" (page 522). The table applies to a US Robotics 56K modem as
an example of the settings you must apply.
