The following command enables you to assign a monitor card to a
network:
SET MODULE { slot.subslot } NETWORK {ethernet_1..._8}
{isolated_1..._8}
The CoreBuilder 5000 Ethernet Network Monitor Card is configured as
subslot 2 on the 24-Port module. The default, sublot 1, refers to the
24-Port module.
The following network management command assigns a port to a
network:
SET PORT { slot.port } NETWORK {ethernet_1..._8}
{ slot. all}
{isolated_1..._8}
Use this command to assign users to backplane segments or isolated
segments (workgroups). For instance, to create a module segment
workgroup, you must assign all of the users in the workgroup to one
isolated network (for example, ISOLATED_1). For more information on
workgroups, refer to
Module Workgroups
in Chapter 2.
It is not possible to assign the CoreBuilder 5000 Ethernet Network
Monitor Card to an isolated segment.

Remote Diagnostics

The Remote Diagnostics feature allows the 24-Port module to detect
certain unusual failure conditions when used with a 3Com
Fault-Tolerant 10BASE-T Transceiver (including disruption of single wires
in the twisted pairs). The Fault-Tolerant 10BASE-T Transceiver
Installation Guide describes this feature in detail. Use the following
command to set this feature:
SET PORT { slot.port } MODE {REMOTE_DIAGNOSTICS} { slot.port }
{NON_REMOTE_DIAGNOSTICS}
Autopartition
The autopartition feature automatically partitions a port on the 24-Port
Threshold
module when more than 63 collisions are detected on that port. When
a port is partitioned, additional collisions received on that port are not
propagated to the rest of the network.
The 10BASE-T specification lists a minimum of 31 collisions prior to
partitioning a port. Partitioning a port after 31 collisions, however, may
cause ports to partition more frequently than necessary.
