Bridging

This feature enables the following features to be used in specific systems
without having to upgrade the OPC software.

Bridging is the process of transferring and installing new INM 4.1 software
onto compatible OPC platforms to enable value-added INM features which
re-use existing OPC and NE OAM capabilities without modifying the existing
OPC software resident on the OPC module. Table 26 outlines which features
are bridged to the various systems.

PM Threshold Provisioning
Enabling bridging is the only additional step required during the workstation
upgrade to INM Release 4.1. Once the INM Release 4.1 workstation initiates
communication with an OC-48 Release 11, 12, 13 or 14 or an OC-12 Release
10, 11, or 12 OPC module, and the bridging has been enabled by the user, the
PM Threshold Provisioning is enabled for BLSR. Traffic Display, Protection
Status and Control, and PM Threshold Provisioning features are enabled for
Linear Systems.
This occurs automatically under the following scenarios:
