Network Tethering

A tablet POS system is a POS system that uses a smart device such as a tablet computer in which the POS
application is installed. If the smart device communicates via Wi-Fi, the communication may become unstable
depending on the radio wave condition in the shop or store and it may cause the POS system to malfunction.
The network tethering provides network function to a smart device that is connected to the printer using a USB
cable. This enables stable and reliable operation of the POS system.
• If the network tethering is enabled and a smart device is connected to the USB-C connector (USB-
PD compatible) on the printer that is connected to a wired network, the smart device can
communicate over the wired network using the tethering function instead of Wi-Fi
communication.
• Wired connections using network tethering will have a transmission speed of 20 Mbps or higher,
but may be lower than 20 Mbps depending on the capabilities of the host device and the network
environment.
