NOTE: When Main Clutch is in "NEUTRAL" forward
and reverse idlers are disengaged.
To engage Main Clutch, push Main Clutch Rod
forward (Forward drive will continue when Main
Clutch Rod is pushed all the way forward). In order
to return Main Clutch to "NEUTRAL", pull and release
Main Clutch Rod.
In order to activate reverse motion, raise tines off
ground, pull back and hold, Main Clutch Rod.
Release Main Clutch Rod to return to "NEUTRAL".
Tiller comes with Drive Belt in low speed groove of
pulley. Low speed is best for heavy tilling. Moving
belt to high speed groove allows faster tine and
wheel speed for cultivating or breaking up last bits of
soil in final pass.
To change forward belt from low speed groove to
high speed groove, or back, follow instructions in
Adjustments Section, Page 11, of this manual.
WARNING: DO NOT remove belt cover
shield while engine is running.
Disengage clutches, stop engine and
remove wire from spark plug before
attempting to change belt speed.
CAUTION: Engine and drive parts will
be hot after operation.
Handlebar Height
Handlebars should be set to a safe comfortable tilling
height (see Adjustments Section, Page 11).

Depth Control
CAUTION: Do not adjust tilling depth
with tines rotating. Place Main Clutch
in "NEUTRAL" before changing tilling
depth.
Tilling depth is controlled by changing the depth
control stick position. Raising the depth stick
increases the tilling depth. The depth stick is
retained at the chosen position by a clevis pin and
hairpin.
IMPORTANT: DO NOT overload tiller by attempting
to till too deep at too fast a rate.
