Step 1
Position handlebar legs on handlebar bracket located
on top of transmission. Refer to Figure 7.
Three holes nearest bottom of handlebar are for
height adjustment. Select a safe comfortable tilling
height, align holes and secure handlebars to
handlebar bracket with (4) .375-16 x 1" capscrews,
.375" washers and locknuts.
Step 2
Slide 3/8" Main Clutch Rod end thru Grommet on left
side of Control Panel and put the end through the
pivot on the forward-neutral-reverse lever and secure
with a washer and hairpin, see Figure 7.
Step 3
Tiller was shipped with tires over-inflated to ensure
seating of bead. Reduce tire pressure to 14 PSI
before operating.
Step 4
Check oil level of gear case before starting unit, refer
to Lubrication and Maintenance Section, starting on
Page 9 of this manual.
Step 5
Start engine and operate all controls. Be sure all
controls function properly prior to delivery to the
customer. Tine and traction drives must fully
disengage when main clutch rod is placed in neutral
or is released from reverse drive position.
Dealer Preparation (Continued)
Registration
Complete the Tiller Pre-warranty Registration Form
and mail original copy to Ariens Company.
Warranty is registered under Model and Serial
Number found on label near engine.
Delivery
Using the Owner's Manual instruct the customer on
controls and operation of tiller. Emphasize safety
and discuss the Safety Precautions.
Explain recommended lubrication and maintenance
of the unit.
IMPORTANT: Remind customer to change oil in
engine crankcase after first two (2) hours of
operation.
Advise customer on adjustments, demonstrate how
to put on and remove attachments.
Explain Ariens Company, Limited Warranty Policy, fill
out Original Purchaser Registration Card, Parts and
Repair Manuals Order Form and return to Ariens
Company. Place Model and Serial Number on page
(1) of this manual.
Give customer his Owner's Manual and engine
manufacturer instructions. Advise him to thoroughly
read and understand them.
