Volume Features
The
Volume
menu sets the volume of sounds your
phone makes:
— sets ringer volume for phone line 1.

— sets the volume of message notifications

and Datebook reminders.
— sets the volume of sound coming out of
Earpiece
the earpiece.
— sets the volume of sound coming out of
Speaker
the speaker.
Keypad
— sets the volume of sound associated with
pressing keys and buttons.
— sets the volume of sound associated
Java Earpiece
with Java applications coming out of the earpiece.
Java Spkr
— sets the volume of sound associated with
Java applications coming out of the speaker.
— sets the volume of sounds that notify you that
Data
you are receiving a circuit data call.

Security Features

The
menu lets you turn security features on and

off and change passwords:
— turns on a feature that locks your
Phone Lock
phone:
takes effect immediately;
Lock Now
takes effect when your phone is powered off and
then on. An unlock code is required to enable this
feature, to unlock the phone, and to set a new unlock
code. Contact Nextel Customer Service for your
default unlock code.
— locks the phone's keypad, either
Keypad Lock
immediately or automatically after a set period of
inactivity.
— enables and disables your phone's SIM
SIM PIN
PIN security feature. See "Turning SIM PIN On and
Off" on page 85.
