Modem Driver and Software

Install the Modem driver from the sub-folders for Windows 95/98 or
Windows NT4.0.
Windows 95/98
The modem is a plug and play device so Windows 95/98 will
automatically detect the presence of your modem. When the Plug and
Play wizard begins to look for modem drivers, click on the button that
says Have Disk and then browse or type in the pathname to the
CMI8x58\modem\win9x folder.
Windows NT 4.0
Follow the instructions in the README file in the WINNT4 sub-folder.

VIA Folder Installation Notes

IDE
This folder has bus mastering Ultra DMA drivers for IDE devices. Drivers
are available for Windows 95/98 and Windows NT 4.0 To begin the
installation, run the SETUP program and then follow the screen prompts.
IRQ
This folder has PCI IRQ miniport drivers.
For Windows 95
Run "setup" to install VIA PCI IRQ Routing Miniport Driver.
Windows 98
Before installing Win98.
1. In the setup utility, enable "OnChip USB" in BIOS Chipset Features
setup menu.
2. In the setup utility, enable "Assign IRQ for USB" in PNP/PCP
Configuration Setup menu.
3. After Installing Win98 run "setup" to install VIA PCI IRQ Routing
Miniport Driver.
USB_Update
This folder updates the USB driver in Windows 98. Run the file
SETUP.EXE to begin the installation of the updated driver.
