Accessibility

Accessibility services are special features to make using the tablet easier for those with certain physical
disabilities. Use the Accessibility settings to configure any accessibility plug-ins you have installed on
your tablet.
Description
Play a brief sample of the speech synthesizer using your current
settings.
Enable to use the settings on this screen in place of speech
synthesizer settings available in other applications.
Set the text-to-speech application you want to use, if you have more
than one installed.
If your tablet does not have speech synthesizer data installed, touch
this option to connect to Android Market. You will be guided through
the process of downloading and installing the data.
Note: This setting is not available if the data is already installed.
Set how quickly you want the synthesizer to speak.
Select the language of the text you want the synthesizer to read.
Open a list of the text-to-speech engines installed on your tablet.
Touch one to view or change its settings.
Open a list of input methods, if you have more than one installed.
Select the input method you want to use.
You can download alternative keyboards and other input methods
from Android Market.
Configure whether to show the input method selector whenever you
need to type.
Displays settings for the input methods you have installed.
For the Android keyboard, the following settings are listed:
• Active input methods: Open a screen to select multiple languages
for typing and speaking when using the onscreen keyboard and
voice input.
• Settings: Configure the following settings:
– Auto-capitalization: When enabled, the onscreen keyboard
automatically capitalizes the first letter of the first word after a
period, the first word in a text field, and each word in name fields.
– Vibrate on keypress: When enabled, the tablet vibrates when
you touch a key on the onscreen keyboard.
– Sound on keypress: Play a brief sound each time you touch a
key on the onscreen keyboard.
– Auto-correction: Automatically types a suggested word that is
highlighted in the strip above the keyboard when you enter a
space or punctuation.
– Show correction suggestions: Show suggested words in a strip
above the onscreen keyboard as you type.
