    PREPARE THE WAYNE HELIX FOR NCR OPTIC PREPARE THE WAYNE HELIX FOR NCR OPTIC Follow these steps to uninstall Helix components to prepare for the NCR OPTIC 12. OPEN THE WAYNE HELIX 1. Unlock the Helix. The lock is located on the bottom of the frame collar.
  • Page 22 PREPARE THE WAYNE HELIX FOR NCR OPTIC 3. Remove the lower metal Collar Frame. a. Unscrew the two attaching screws holding the upper plastic collar frame section to the lower metal collar frame section. Set aside and retain the screws.
  • Page 23 PREPARE THE WAYNE HELIX FOR NCR OPTIC b. Leverage the plastic latch away from the metal collar frame and apply a sharp force on the bottom of the lower metal frame towards the dispenser to disengage from the upper frame.
  • Page 24 PREPARE THE WAYNE HELIX FOR NCR OPTIC 4. Repeat the previous steps on the other side of the dispenser to remove the other metal collar frame. 5. With both plastic frames on each side closed lift until the shoulders can be removed.

    PREPARE THE WAYNE HELIX FOR NCR OPTIC 6. Verify the upper plastic collar frame on each side is raised and the prop rod is in place after both shoulders have been removed. UNINSTALL HELIX CABINET COMPONENTS 1. Remove components from the upper plastic collar frame customer display assembly.

Retain the screw. b. Remove the speaker if present. Remove any gasket material from the outside speaker housing and clean any adhesive residue.

Unplug the PPU buttons and Network cable. Make note of all cable locations to reinstall the correct connections.

    PREPARE THE WAYNE HELIX FOR NCR OPTIC c. Set aside the PPU L cover and middle gasket to be reinstalled. 8. repeat the process on side B. UNINSTALL THE DISPENSER COLLAR FRAME 1. Push out on each (2 per side of the dispenser) Collar Frame hinge to disconnect the Collar Frame from the dispenser.

Set the display and attaching hardware aside. 4. Uninstall the Prop Rod Bracket. a. Turn the Upper Collar frame on its side with the Prop Rod Bracket facing up.
  • Page 35 PREPARE THE WAYNE HELIX FOR NCR OPTIC b. Push up on the bracket while wiggling side to side until it clears the edge of the collar frame. c. Continue to push up on the bracket until it is fully removed. Retain the Prop Rod Bracket.

    INSTALL THE OPTIC 12 INTO THE WAYNE HELIX INSTALL THE OPTIC 12 INTO THE WAYNE HELIX PREPARE AND INSTALL THE HELIX POWER SUPPLY ASSEMBLY 1. Attach both OPTIC Power Supply Assemblies (PSU) (497-0515392) to the Helix PSU Mounting Bracket (497-0517696). a. Identify the stud wing on the OPTIC PSU Assembly labeled "Ovation". Install the Helix PSU Mounting Bracket to this wing.

On Side A of the dispenser, identify the main AC power in line connected to the Power board in the lower left side of the dispenser.

Note: Use a length of wire or twine to help route the cables up the duct. Drop the wire or twine into the top of the duct, wrap/tie the wire or twine to the cable and guide into and up the routing duct.
  • Page 44 INSTALL THE OPTIC 12 INTO THE WAYNE HELIX 6. Route the Helix Pump Comm Adapter Cable (497-0519397) into the wiring duct. Only one Comm Adapter Cable is needed per dispenser. a. Acquire the Helix Pump Comm Adapter Cable and drop the dispenser connection end (white 4 pin connector) into the right side from side B cable routing duct.

Determine the correct orientation by the markings "This Side Against Wall" and the curved edge facing up. b. Line up the end of the bracket with the side edge of the dispenser.

    INSTALL THE OPTIC 12 INTO THE WAYNE HELIX INSTALL THE COLLAR FRAME 1. Acquire the Plastic Upper Collar Frame (497-0517598). Install the retained Prop Rod bracket to the new plastic collar frame in the noted position from the uninstall process.

    INSTALL THE OPTIC 12 INTO THE WAYNE HELIX PREPARE TO INSTALL THE OPTIC PANEL 1. Install the UL Listed by Report Retrofit Kit 6003-0104-8801 Helix Printer Kit to the OPTIC 12 panel following the Helix Printer Kit Installation Instructions (497- 0517666). 2. Install the Customer Display onto the OPTIC Panel (497-0518748).

Install the gaskets to both brackets. Install the Speaker Gasket Brackets to the Speaker Openings with one provided screw (006- 8626488) and one retained screw.

  • Page 66 INSTALL THE OPTIC 12 INTO THE WAYNE HELIX 4. Place in the Helix OPTIC panel and rest on the PPU L Covers. Attach the lower hinge brackets to the previously installed side mounting plate with the provided washers (006-8623576) and screws (006-8622686).
  • Page 67 INSTALL THE OPTIC 12 INTO THE WAYNE HELIX 5. Lift up the OPTIC 12 Panel until the tethers can be attached to the previously installed dispenser tether brackets. Attach both tethers using the provided washers (006-8623576) and screws (006-8622686). 6. Install the power cable, network cables, and grounding wire to the OPTIC panel components.
  • Page 68 INSTALL THE OPTIC 12 INTO THE WAYNE HELIX c. Remove the existing earth ground screw from the pump and retain for re installation. d. Attach the unused end of the 497-0513687 earth ground cable and 006-8611152 lock washer to the retained earth ground screw.

Reinstall the earth ground screw with earth ground ring terminal and lock washer attached allowing the PSU to be grounded to the pump chassis as depicted in the photo below. 7. Rotate the OPTIC Panel up until the customer display cables, grounding wire, and comm speaker (if present) can be connected or installed using the retained hardware.

Route all cabling away from sharp edges and gaskets (including the tether cables) prior to closing the OPTIC panel.

Install the lock barrel nut and tighten the lock into place. Install the new lock cam in the unlocked position with the bend towards the metal frame as shown below.
