b. Open the Device Manager by clicking on the Start button, then right-click on Computer and select Proper-
ties (fig. X). In the next window, click the Device Manager link under Tasks on the left side (fig. Y).

c. Expand the "Universal Serial Bus controllers" tree by clicking the "+" next to it.
d. Right-click on each of the "USB Root Hub" entries and select "Uninstall" (fig. Z). **NOTE: If you are using a
USB mouse, you will want to make sure that you don't uninstall the USB Root Hub for it (your mouse will stop
working.) The way to check which "USB Root Hub" the mouse is using is to right-click on each of the "USB
Root Hub" entries, select Properties, and click on the Power tab. The "USB Root Hub" the mouse is using will
list a mouse in the "Attached devices" section of the Power tab.**

e. Restart the PC (fig. AA), reconnect the printer after the computer comes back up, then repeat steps 1-6.
