General Maintenance
WARNING
Periodically inspect the entire product for damaged, missing, or loose parts such as screws,
nuts, bolts, caps, etc. Tighten securely all fasteners and caps and do not operate this
product until all missing or damaged parts are replaced. Please contact customer service an
authorized service center for assistance.
Tool lubrication (Fig . 28)
Your SKIL tool has been properly lubricated
and is ready to use. The ball bearings in the
spindle and the V-belt pulley assembly are
greased and permanently sealed.
Pull the spindle down and oil the spindle sleeve
moderately with SAE No. 20 or No. 30 oil, or
WD 40 every three months.
Pulleys (Fig . 29)
Should you feel an unusually high level
of vibration, the pulleys may not be tightly
secured on the motor and/or spindle shafts.
To make sure the pulleys are properly seated
and tight, locate the set screw on each of the
pulleys. Tighten each set screw clockwise with
the provided 4 mm hex wrench.

To avoid accidents always disconnect the tool from the power supply
before cleaning or performing any maintenance .
Preventive maintenance performed by unauthorized personnel may
result in misplacing of internal wires and components, which could
When servicing, use only identical replacement parts. Use of any
other parts could create a hazard or cause product damage .
