Replacing the audio card/FireWire assembly

To install the audio card/FireWire assembly, complete the following steps:

9. Insert a long-blade screwdriver through the empty drive cage and loosen the
two screws that secure the audio card/FireWire assembly to the chassis.

1. Touch the static-protective package containing the audio card/FireWire
assembly to any unpainted metal surface on the computer. Then, remove the
audio card/FireWire assembly from the package.
2. From the inside of the chassis, slide the connectors for the new assembly
through the openings in the front panel.
3. Insert a long-blade screwdriver through the empty drive cage and tighten the
two screws to secure the audio card/FireWire assembly to the chassis.
4. Reconnect the cables to the audio card/FireWire assembly to the system
board.
5. Reinstall the hard disk drives you removed from the drive cage and reconnect
the drive cables.
Note: Be sure to install the drives in the same bay from which you removed
them.
6. Press the drive-cage release tab and rotate the drive back into the chassis.
7. Replace the air baffle.
a. Orient the air baffle as shown and align it with the side of the power supply.
b. Insert the small end of the air baffle into the computer toward the front of
the computer.
c. Lower the larger end of the air baffle until the side flange rests on the
power supply.
d. Slide the baffle toward the rear of the computer until it stops and the rear
flange (locking lip) is inside the computer chassis; then, press down on the
large end of the air baffle until it clicks into place.
