To remove the battery, complete the following steps:
1. Read the safety information that begins on page vii and "Installation guidelines"
2. Turn off the computer and all attached devices. Disconnect all external cables

Replacing the battery

Important: In computers containing the optional microprocessor board, the battery
must be replaced by a trained service technician who is familiar with IBM products.
The following notes describe information that you must consider when replacing the
battery in the computer:
v When replacing the battery, you must replace it with a lithium battery of the same
