Troubleshooting

Basic troubleshooting of a cassette tape deck is similar to
troubleshooting of any other electrical or electronic equipment.
Always check the most obvious possible causes first. To give
you a few ideas of what to look for, check the following:
No power
® Is the power cord connected?
No playback when disc is loaded.
® Load the disc with label side up.
® If the disc is dirty, clean the surface of the disc.
No audio output
® Check the connections to the stereo system.
A single tune can only be played.
® If 1/ALL function is engaged, press the 1/ALL button to
stop it.
No program playback.
® If "MEMORY" indicator is off, press the PROGRAM
button.
Mistracing (sound jumping)
® Install the player on a stable place to avoid vibration and
shock.
® If the disc is dirty, clean the surface of the disc.
Hum
® Check the connection of pin-cord plug.
Noise in tuner
® The player might be too close to the tuner. Keep a
reasonable distance, or switch off the player.
Remote control unit operation is impossible.
® Press the power switch of the main unit.
® Insert or change the batteries of the remote control unit.
Caution:
Since the unit incorporates a microcomputer, it may not
operate correctly because of external noise, etc. If this
happens, turn the power switch OFF, then turn it ON again
and restart operations.
