Receivable broadcast systems
The broadcast system that can be received by "Auto Scan" will differ by
countries.
FRANCE: Can receive SECAM-L.
To register channels that can not be received by using "Auto Scan" because
of the broadcast system, use "Manual Scan".
Auto in "Zoom"
When "Auto" is selected in Zoom, the aspect ratio will turn to the ratio
obtained from the information the TV received.
The aspect ratio will turn to the ratio obtained from WSS (Wide Screen
Identification Signal), video signal, or control signal of the external
devices. Without receiving the aspect information, it will be the setting in
"4:3 Aspect Setting". (P. 28)
Digital channels that cannot be watched on this TV
If a digital channel service uses new formats (such as DVB-H or MPEG4,
etc.), or MHP, it cannot be watched even though the channel name appears.
If the channel is selected, the picture will not appear and audio cannot be heard.

This TV can receive digital terrestrial broadcasting (DVB-T) in the
following countries. Digital terrestrial broadcasting (DVB-T) reception in
other countries is not guaranteed.

Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Czech Republic
Monitor out (EXT-, EXT-)
To record Digital / Analogue channels to external devices
Connect the external device to EXT-1 or EXT-2.
Select a programme you want to record and video / audio will output as
an analogue signal.
Analogue channel video / audio will output from EXT-1 when analogue
channel or EXT-1 is selected.
To record video and audio from another external devices
Connect the external device to EXT-1 or EXT-2.
Select an external device you want to record and video / audio will output
as an analogue signal.
Note
Set the aspect ratio to "Regular" or "Full". The aspect ratio will not be
displayed correctly during recording or playback.
You can not output from EXT-1 if you switch to EXT-1 from digital channel.
1080p (1125p) signal is not supported, because they can not be
converted to composite signal.
"Dolby Digital" output from the DIGITAL AUDIO OUT terminal
Some digital channels are broadcasted with "Dolby Digital" signals. In these
cases, "Dolby Digital" signals can be output from the DIGITAL AUDIO OUT
terminal.
. Connect an audio system with a "Dolby Digital" decoder to the DIGITAL
AUDIO OUT terminal.
"Connecting external devices" (P. 9)

. Change the "Digital Audio Output" setting from "PCM" to "Dolby Digital".
"Digital Audio Output" (P. 29)

Even if "Dolby Digital" is set, "MPEG" signals will be output by a channel
that is not broadcast with "Dolby Digital" signals.
Even if "Dolby Digital" is set, "Liner PCM" signals will be output from the
sources other than digital channels.
Set the audio system so that it is compatible with "Dolby Digital",
"MPEG" and "Linear PCM". (For detail, refer to the audio system
instruction manual.) If the audio system does not have a MPEG
decoder, change the setting to "PCM" when listening the sound of a
channel that is not broadcast with "Dolby Digital" signals.
Do not change the setting to "Dolby Digital" from "PCM" when the audio
system does not have a "Dolby Digital" decoder.
If you have a noise or no sound problem, change the setting to "PCM"
from "Dolby Digital".
