Telephone line cord
Insert one end of the line cord into the socket on the back of the
machine marked TEL. LINE. Insert the other end into a wall
telephone socket.

In Germany, the machine is supplied with a N-coded line cable, enabling
you to use an extension (cordless) telephone on the same line. If you don't
have the standard NFN-outlet of TELEKOM, you can purchase an
NFN-adapter at your retailer.

Your fax is set for tone dialling. If you are on a pulse only dial line, you must
set the fax for pulse dialling by changing Option Setting 7. This procedure is
described in Chapter 8, Option Settings.

If you are connecting the machine to a PBX, you will need to make
appropriate settings for Option Setting 14. See Chapter 8, Option Settings.

If you intend to use a computer fax modem on the same phone line, you must
reset Option Setting 15 (Fax Signal Receive) to OFF in order to prevent
transmission and reception errors. This procedure is described in Chapter 8,
Option Settings.
