Specifications

Display: LEDs
Gases Detected:
Refrigerants: All CFC, HCFC, and HFC refrigerants including R-12, R-22, R-123, R-134a,
and R-410A (any refrigerant containing chlorine, fluorine, or bromine gas)
Combustible Gas: All combustible gases and vapors
Sensitivity:
Refrigerant: The sensitivity specification is based on detecting tetrafluoroethane (R-134a), which is
the most difficult refrigerant to detect.
14 grams (0.5 ounces) per year is detected by moving the probe tip at 50 mm (2") per second,
within 3 mm (0.1") above the leak source.
7 grams (0.25 ounces) per year is detected by holding the probe in place above the leak source
for 5 seconds.
Combustible Gas: 50 ppm methane, minimum
Sensitivity Adjustment: Automatic
Warm-up Time: 10 seconds
Response Time: 0.2 seconds
Sensors:
Refrigerant: Heated diode type with a typical life span of 150 hours or 1 year of normal use, plug-in
replacement
Combustible Gas: Semiconductor type with a typical 5 year life span, plug-in replacement
Sampling System Flow Rate: 40 to 50 cc per minute with sensor
Probe: Flexible gooseneck, 508 mm (20") maximum length that reduces to 76 mm (3") when wrapped
around unit; includes integral sensor, filter, and LED
Operating Conditions: 0 C to 50 C (32 F to 122 F), 15% to 90% relative humidity (non-condensing)
Storage Conditions: –20 C to 50 C (–4 F to 122 F), 15% to 90% relative humidity (non-condensing)
Remove batteries
Batteries: Four AA 1.5 V batteries (use only Energizer E91; Duracell MN1500; Rayovac 815; and
Panasonic AM-3PI)
Battery Life: 4 to 5 hours, under typical intermittent operation
Approvals:
Refrigerant: UL listed in accordance to SAE J1627
Combustible Gas: MET lab certified to UL913, intrinsically safe for use in Class I, Division 1, Group
D hazardous areas
