2. Connect the black test lead to the COM terminal and the red test lead to the V
NOTE: The polarity of the red test lead is +.
3. Connect test leads across the diode to check.
4. The forward voltage drop on LCD should be approximately 0.3~0.9 V. If the LCD reads OL
(over range), reverse the lead connection.
Continuity Test
IMPORTANT: Before conducting this test be sure there is no voltage present in the circuit.
Please refer to Safety Information before proceeding.
1. Connect the black test lead to the COM terminal and the red test lead to the V
2. Set the rotary selector switch to the 200
3.` Connect the test leads across the two points being measured. The value of the resistance
will appear on the display.
4. If the resistance is less than approximately 30 , the unit will produce a continuous tone in
addition to displaying the value.
Resistance Measurement
IMPORTANT: Before conducting this test the device being tested should be turned off, any
capacitors should be discharged and voltage should not be present. Please
refer to Safety Information before proceeding.
1. Connect the black test lead to the COM terminal and the red test lead to the V
NOTE: The polarity of the red test lead is +.
2. Set the rotary selector switch to the
NOTE: If measuring an unknown resistance, start at the highest range then adjust to the
proper lower range for best resolution.
3. Connect the test leads across the resistance being measured. The resistance value will
appear on the display.
Frequency Measurement
1. Connect the black test lead to the COM terminal and the red test lead to the V
2. Set the rotary switch to the Hz position.
3. Connect the test leads across the source or load under measurement. The frequency value
will appear on the display.
Phase Sequence Indication
IMPORTANT: When connecting leads to a 3 phase system, turn off power, connect leads and
then restore power to take reading.
1. Set the rotary switch to the RST position.
2. Connect the red test lead to the R terminal, the yellow test lead to the S terminal and the
black test lead to the T terminal. The buzzer will sound and
